If you have the ability to set aside a specific time for baby's massage, it should ideally be:
Not too close to nap/bed time (you don't want baby to be fussy)
Not too much before/after eating (Before food baby will just be antsy to eat and afterwards, baby may be too full to lay still and enjoy the massage)
When you are not rushed (baby can sense if you are anxious or worried about being somewhere or not being able to spend the time, so that will make baby anxious as well)
If you aren't able to set aside a specific time to do the massage, that's ok! You can incorporate massage into baby's daily activities such as:
Massaging their arms during bath time
Working on the legs during a diaper change
Working on the back while baby is being held or during tummy time
